Handmade By a Novice Jeweler

You may be here because I gave you a gift. I love giving gifts to friends and strangers. There are many ways in which I am like a hobbit, and this is one. Thank you for accepting my gift,

Rather than turning my jewelry-making into a business, I prefer to share my creations freely—no strings, no sales, just pure creative joy.

Caring for your jewelry

Sterling silver tarnishes; it’s just a fact of the material. I use Argentium silver where possible due to its lower copper content, which makes it tarnish resistant and hypoallergenic. Whether you own one of my silver or copper pieces, you’ll want to polish it periodically. Sunshine cloths are a good option for this. You can also store your fine jewelry with anti-tarnish tabs.

If you love your gift (or if you’re excited to re-gift it to someone who will love it), consider paying it forward. Here are some ways you can do that:

Donate to a Good Cause

Rather than paying me, why not support a charity? Pick an organization you love, or if you need a suggestion, here are a few causes I care about. Local food banks and animal shelters are always a good idea too.

Trade Art

Are you an artist? A painter, a knitter, a sewist, a smith? Why not choose a friend and make them something meaningful? I know how much time and care goes into creating art, so if you want to make me something, I promise to give it a good home. You can reach out to me via my contact page on this website or on Instagram.

Help Fund My Hobby

This part is last because I truly don’t want anyone to feel pressured to spend money. That said, jewelry-making is a fun but expensive hobby, so only if you insist, I don’t mind a little support to keep the good vibes vibing.

Instead of paying me directly, take a look at my Amazon Wish List. It’s full of tools, materials, supplies, and books that help me keep making and gifting more pieces.

Most importantly, I hope you enjoy your gift! If you’d like to share a photo of your new jewelry in action, I’d love to see it—tag me @KendraLynnSterling on Instagram or email it my way!
